Kaukauna Public Library

The new Kaukauna Public Library occupies the first floor of the historic Eagle Mill, originally built in 1888.

Working within the framework of the Historical Building Guidelines, the space has been completely renovated. During the design process, important architectural components were preserved while new functional areas were created. The space was made fully accessible, meeting all modern ADA standards. The new library features spectacular, panoramic views of the Fox River and the floorplan now incorporates both tradition and non-traditional library elements, including: community conference & meeting rooms, children’s collection and play area, tween/teen collection and computer area, adult fiction and nonfiction areas, indoor and outdoor reading areas, and private study rooms.

BSI provided interior design services and furniture. To meet the unique requirements of this innovative, new library design furnishings were selected from 16 different manufacturers. In addition, BSI designed and installed a Donor Wall display, furnished and installed mini blinds and Mecho shades, and specified and coordinated the installation of artwork and signage.
