Extendicare Cedar Springs Health & Rehabilitation Center

Cedar Springs, a skilled nursing facility owned by Extendicare, desired an upscale environment that would reflect their level of service.

The renovation required a dramatic entrance, the transformation of a large nurse station hub, the alteration of existing resident rooms into private suites and the creation of multi-functional areas within the dining room and lounges. Extendicare wanted a home that was warm and inviting, encouraged interaction among residents, and stood out in the community.

The facility needed to function for the nurses and staff, but most importantly serve the physical, social and intellectual needs of the residents. While keeping the residents as top priority, the renovation had to be completed without disrupting them in their home. The entire project was carefully phased so residents would have minimal exposure to the construction. BSI crews worked any shift necessary so disruptions would have little effect on the lives of the residents
