This spring, our Account Executive, Carol, visited Ecuador. On her trip, she learned about Damien House. Damien House is a residential hospital for over 30 ’s patients with Hansen’s Disease (also known as Leprosy). In addition, they treat a roster of nearly 700 outpatients. The patients that Carol met were cheerful and hard-working, despite their struggles. Because this disease strongly affects their hands and feet, many of them are without proper shoes to protect their feet.
Upon her return to the states, Carol presented BSI associates a challenge. Associates were asked to donate new or gently used tennis shoes for children and adults. After two weeks — and one simple email plea for donations — BSI associates (and their families) donated over 50 pair of shoes to be sent to Damien House in Ecuador!
We are proud of our associates for giving back!
